Hunger

Gnawing at a bone
A tibia I think,
possibly a thigh,
can't seem to remember
anymore.
Getting harder to think
since the beast
took over.
who would think
one innocent
little bite
would result
in this.
oh well,
situation normal,
politicians are
notorious
for gluttony,
stabbing their friends
in the back
and, of course,
eating
their young.

Hunger

Rett, "And neglecting their country!" Liked this little take on politicians~ _____________________________________________________ Income-tax forms should be more realistic by allowing the taxpayer to list "Uncle Sam" as a dependent Anonymous

Thanks Janice

In light of what they have been doing lately, I guess it was inevitable I would write something like this. Glad you liked it. Respectfully, Rett: "When I was born I was so surprised I didn't talk for a year and a half." Gracie Allen

I certainly do think that

I certainly do think that 'career politicians' are a carnivorous lot, feeding off of the hopes and tax dollars of their beleaguered constituents. Nice running analogy there...

Thank you Kenneth

I appreciate it. It is sad, but true, they really are a carnivorous lot. Respectfully, Rett: "When I was born I was so surprised I didn't talk for a year and a half." Gracie Allen

That's the truth

And what do we do. Sit back and let them destroy our country. We have replaced God with government. Respectfully, Rett: "When I was born I was so surprised I didn't talk for a year and a half." Gracie Allen

we need leaders

and long ago not all were villified but a common practise now somehow keeping us in check the best brains were used to craft the bombs (yes plural) and to think that the simplest of them will set them off soon Only a matter of time before possible detonation just numerical mathematics more then moral dilemna or machine error and yet the short and fall of nickel and dime bloodshed controlled battle is still preferred in whatever name spoken God in whatever form blesses all and keeps safe with each rising of the sun sad but true

Hello My Friend

A very nice analogy, all of it: 'Getting harder to think since the beast took over' possibly the apathy that will occur when the government does our thinking for us, since they're so much smarter than we commoners 'who would think one innocent little bite would result in this.' a little bite of socialism here, a little bite there---it can't hurt now we need programs to run the programs that run the programs now we need czars as for gluttony, stabbing, and eating the young---that's only the beginning. Great write. Keep it up. Check out my 'Bleeding Hearts' and/or 'Kings and Queens.' Yours, Deelilah

Re-think this one?

I think I'll have to re-think this one. Maybe I got it all wrong. If so, so sorry---I was feeling especially frustrated with the politics that night. Hope you're doing well. Let me know how far off I was (or not) and what you were thinking when you wrote this poem. It is very interesting on its own merit. Yours, Deelilah

You were dead on Deelilah

You caught exactly what I was talking about. They are going to ram what we don't want down our throats. They don't give a damn for the people any more. It is only the special interest groups and socialism. Power and corruption is rampant and if we don't vote the idiots out in 2010, this country is lost and going the way of Venezuela,Cuba and the old Soviet Union.
