Illusions of Grandeur
Standing on
the tip of the world,
watching the stars
as they swirl in whirls
Suddenly as if,
someone flipped a coin,
upside down
ass and ground joined
As life's slide-show
changed real fast,
the world ahead
was alone and vast
Confused and crying
wringing my hands,
screaming at heaven
like i don't give a damn
Ripping to shreds
the clothes on my back,
watching the ants
to uncover new tracks
Madness sets in
arid deserts call,
illusions of grandeur
come before the fall
Crawling through gravel
as scorpions crisscross,
Fearing nothing as
sanity's been lost
A shaking feeling
rattles my head,
"wake up honey
and go to bed"
