Reflected in a grave

Reflected in a grave...I saw my own reflection and -reflected!

Reflected in the marble grave

my image stood

and dressed in white the white of light

of butterflies

their wings unfurled to leave this life

so short their span

there she was

Anne

one day e'en she will bless this site

her wings of life being done

and spiders webs with new spun threads

bedeck the shining slab

begun again

new life

not hers

and all the tears shed through the years

in vain can ne'er lift her again

she's gone from this earths clod

her bones rot in the sod of churchyards drought

and only this cold hard stone is left

to point her out

This sudden sight of doom

when in full life she stands

pensive and quiet

where bees and birds sing lullabies

to all those down below

a wistful wise and holy essence fills the air about

the church walls warmed by suns long beams of light

so timeless is the stillness

in this place devout

the flowers are still on graves of others

while outside the walls

the trees are in full bud

and will be ours anon

when they are gone

The way of all things that's the way

of God's own shout

a resounding thud

the mud embraces all one day

however much we kneel and pray

we die, that's the life eh!

To earth's grey damp our souls on fire

as we descend the funeral pyre

and lifted into memory

we sink again and cease to be.

I don't want...

to live forever, let me know just a little before. "Nobody likes getting old, but we all want to keep doing it." ~ Me. Love the reflecting reflection. My favorite line is: "The sudden sight of doom, when in full life she stands" Beautiful! Sir Gee.

Dear Ann H

What a soulful write and you still see the beauty by these words you have used. Well I think you have written this quite well and even though it felt a little sad for me, I appreciate you sharing this part of you. Thank u, Love Lyz.

Oh golly I'm not sad

But if you feel sad that is okay with me, I am far from sad and death has no sting for me life may have if I become ill, but the ceasing to be, gives me no qualms of fear or fright. Love to you dear sweet Lyz fron Ann

Every beautiful thought

Every beautiful thought concieved in your heart will become a sunbeam on all the waters where love gives birth to words. And by them the wayward sailor will trim his sail, and tack for home. ..................o

Oh blimey!

What a most lovely thing to say, and in 'public' so to speak. And what a beautiful way to express it too. Thank you, you give me lightness enough to take off and fly round the world. Yours Ann, with love.
