The Reading Room

I could speak about sheep
but religions bore me
perhaps a word about the wolf
but I'm not hungry

it could be all about you
but being super-naturally twisted
you are so willingly inept

there is always art
with its glowing passions
or music's unbound glorys

how about poets
and their swollen egos
or disillusionment's
red-faced realizations

but the splatter-ass day won't allow direction
and what do simple croppings matter
we're only here to feed the moment

Moonman:

I like this poem, even though I believe the moment closes the circle of life by feeding us in in return. I applaud, however, the elevated presentation of the poem, the playfulness of words, the the serious transitoriness with which you face life. Really a poetic work of the best kind, a universal cry, a wonderful study of uncertainty. Sincerely, Hugo

Hugo...

I loved your look at this poem, thank you! We are indeed feeding and being fed per each moment... and within the circle it is how it should be. Thanks! Richard

Richard, You certainly

Richard, You certainly do have a way with words. Great piece, indeed. it could be all about you but you are super-naturally twisted and so willingly inept I love these lines. Sue Hope you don't mind if I add you to my buddy list.

Hi Sue...

thank you, this piece I just wrote the other day, and I liked it. I don't like everything I write, there are many lines that come out of me that I don't want to show anyone... just crap! Honored to be on your buddy list... thank you! Richard

Some awesome thoughts, lines

Some awesome thoughts, lines as usual. A couple of places where the flow, imo, not quite right: *super* impedes the flow and isn't necessary. and musics *unbound* is sufficient. (ed) red-faced? ~A

Anna...

so glad you are here and offering me suggestions, and you are right... super does impede the flow, but I may have to do something else there to fix it... because I wanted to say "super-natural" as opposed to natural... the other suggestions I am going to use right now. thanks so much for looking Richard

Hello

I love the way you have written this. The followers and the greedy leaders, the needy and the ass lickers, the self absorbed, just to put a few, lol. You have put a lot into this short write and u are right. Now I hope I have given you just a wee bit of feed for your ego, you deserve it. Lol. Love Lyz. XX

Richard,

your opening lines! Sheep...wolf... what a concept, I couldn't stop laughing. Maybe the poem would have even more impact if you created a whole zoo? I'd stick to the structure of your first stanza and try to describe every "person" as a kind of animal. E.g. geese, foxes, peacocks, doves... just throwing out a few ideas. Yours, ~Nina

Hi Richard

You do have a way of cutting through the crap. So sad, but true, these lines: but the splatter-ass day won’t allow direction and what do simple croppings matter we’re only here to feed the moment I always love your blunt truth and 'what's it all about, Alphie?' viewpoint. Yours, Deelilah

I call them like I see them...

and you get five stars from me, even if you don't want them, LOL. In these lines, which I very much liked: I could speak about sheep but religions bore me perhaps a word about the wolf but I’m not hungry Having grouped the line about the wolf in with religious sheep, makes me think that you are bored with gobbling up/out reasoning with closed minded religious fanatics and would rather have something less dry and tastier to chew on/think about. (Really like this idea) The rest of the poem is excellent, too. Always, Cat

all the more reason to enjoy the moment however... Bahhhh bahhh

I love your whimsical heart that meanders where it will, every read I grow more fond of you even when you're blowing steam. I hope the world is throwing you less curly ones today Richard... even though it's entertaining for us when it does! That last stanza is a killer I must admit... felt slapped in the face a bit by it, but sadly true... all the more reason to enjoy the moment however... Bahhhh bahhh Much love to you quiet creeper upper of under skinness Cheers Anni~ "When we feel love and kindness toward others, it not only makes others feel loved and cared for, but it helps us also to develop inner happiness and peace". Richard, dear, after reading

Richard, dear, after reading it again, I don't know if you changed anything, or should have. Damn it must be me, parasyllabic pretentious poetic ego that I am, nor can I spell supercalifragilisticexpialidotcious without help from Mr. Google. (Which is quite a reading room in Richad's mind.) ;-)

I love you again today. Your comment put me in mind of sneezes, they come in threes usually. Well with all my children, 32, 24, 17, and 7... I have always said, "goodness" on the first one, "gracious" on the second one, and "expialidotious" on the third one... my seven year old (Emma) will fake sneeze just to get me to do it... sorry, you did it! lol thanks again Richard

Mr. Moonman, my glowing friend,

your words resound with power and depth I love the first stanza, clever and captivating the sheep, the wolf I actually did use them in a recently written poem ;) your voice has become stronger and at the same time more elegant I don't know how you do it but you do it so very well! your Proprietress
