they gave you a lying face
white.... the color of death
when the hollow heart fell broken
in milliions that bought you.

a boy can not love or dream
in the gold chest of a loveless god,
or unravel the puppet masters
posing question, what are you?
when you are frozen within.

the heart is a little boy,
and the lost place  crow black
picking out your dead make-up
as the music plays faster
and your burial is sold out.

layers of feeling that slide over one another

Oh I so love this you have woken that side of consciousness that has the sensitive layers of feeling that slide over one another in such beautiful delicacy that we sink, almost dying in your words as we read them, as if we too were being caressed in afterthought by your poetic hands, I don't know what to say more, wonderful Barry. Millions and cannot. Love to you and your pen Barry from Ann

Orphani:

The richness of the subject you have painted! The colors are vivid, and I would say masterful, fresh with truth, and perfectly aligned with a most sensible indignation. Great work! Sincerely, Hugo

It is a sad loss

a boy cannot love or dream in the gold chest of a loveless god ... I find that phrase to be completely true of the man. It is a sad loss of one so talented. We have no idea how much beauty we have lost. Your dedication is pure and heart felt. I am so pleased to have read this today. ~Pamela

Thanks for visoting

Thanks for visiting Barry's poem, Pamela. Every word is worth its weight in gold. The last paragraph a stark picture, bravely painted. You have a ii in millions. funny for some reason is used to do that all the time, some time ago, still do that occasionally. ~A "...when it agrees with reason and it will benefit one and all, then accept it and live by it." ~ Buddha
