I Wish For You

Mothers aren't just the ones

Who have borne your very soul

They are also the ones who wish to see

You reach some lofty goals

Watching, teaching, making sure

You have the best of starts

Mothers love, life-long endures

There is no bigger heart

The days and nights you tended me

When I was sick, when I was down

Those times I disappointed you

I saw your worried frown

Happy Birthday, Mother dear

From your child this wish is true

For no matter how near or far

This wish will come to you

Hi Gee

Being the mother of two grown boys (and one girl), I could relate to this. How very nice that you could send a birthday poem to your mother. I thought the poem was very well written, smooth to speak, and hit the content right on the mark, just very special. Your mother is a lucky woman on her birthday. Yours, Deelilah

Yes she is...

Thank you, Deelilah. I appreciate your comments. My mom knows how lucky she is. I heard her say, " I love you all, and thank you for this wonderful party, and then just a whisper... "All this, for me." My mom raised all eight of us as a single mom. My father and the father of all five of the youngest, were both alcoholics. She never gave up on any of us. We all love her so much! She lives with one of my younger sisters and her family. She still goes on trips to the casinos, does her own wash, helps in the garden, etc.. Yours, Geezer

Mom Cried...

I read this to my mom, one of my sisters and my brother, and they all had moist eyes. Then I read the Scotty tribute to them all, and they broke out in tears, all three. Another sis, came over and asked what was going on, and wound up taking them out to read to the rest of the ppl there and there wasn't a dry eye in the house! I said Mom, I didn't mean to bring such sadness to your party. She said " I am so glad you did this. They are tears of joy, not sadness. I love you, and thank you, the best present I have gotten today. She turns eighty-three tomorrow we had party today, so all could attend. Thank you, [[[Big Hugz]]] and lotsa love, Gee

Beautifully full of love and aptly described

Mothers they give all, they almost breath your breath with their own love of you, and with it give up much of themselves in the effort to make this life the best, as you say, for their child. And how lovely that you here give tribute to those facts dear sweet Sir Geezer, so many rebel, as they should at some time or other, but they often never stop to think of the love they received from their mothers, whoever they were, they gave love to us and to be able to say thank you is wonderful. I send you a rose to give to your mother, a sign of recognition that she was a wonderful mother. Yours respectfully dear Sir Geezer, from Ann of N.

Full of love...

My sis's house was fullup with love at Mom's party. My Mom has friends that are younger than I, many young grand-children, and great-grand-children. Most of them were there. The rose is gratefully accepted for her, and I will be sure to present it to her, next I see her. Thank you for your beautiful comments, Sir Gee.
