The Masses

 The Masses

  Been one of those days
   Everything is all wrong
  No matter the tune
   I 've forgotten the song

Woke up on the wrong side
   And both of them mine
  Never mind the coffee
   Bring on the wine

  Pour me a big glass
   How 'bout a mug
  Screw that, let's party
   Hand me the jug

  Close all the windows
   Shut all the blinds
  Crank up the music
   Forget about time

  Live for the moment
   Tomorrow you die
If it ain't you and me
Could it be you and I

  Who knows of tomorrow
   Or even last night
  You think that you're wrong
    well maybe you're right

  I don't know the answers
   Christ, the questions confuse
  I know very little
'Cept I love you, I do

  This darkness, it haunts me
   I struggle for sun
  The morning brings shadows
   Your face on each one

Do I call for the white coats
   Should they lock me away
Or is this how the masses
   Get through every day...

Dear Jetz

Very well written. I think we all have been this way at times, some more than others. Leave the white coats on the rack for a while. Well done. Love Lyz. XX

Definitely enjoyed this

Definitely enjoyed this read. A resonating piece highlighting that existential angst that we, 'the masses' tend to feel. Nice flow and delivery too.

I can relate to this.

This reminds me of many occasions, days of depression, days of migraines, and sometimes, just days. Nice flow and structure, great imagery and passion. I'll call the white coats for you, although I hope they have a big ambulance, you're not the only one on their list of 'looneys!!' Gave you four stars...as you didn't specify the cranked up music was 'Systema Synthetica' LOL! The Masses

Classy writing. I see myself in there so many times.
