It's All Mathematical

I've come to a reasonable conclusion
that if we were all put to the test,
in the long run, the long and short of it...
is it's all mathematical, at best.

The equation is really quite simple
a plus and minus column will do,
if one column fills up more abundantly
I'm afraid the inevitable will come true !

Just look at how the bank does their business
listing what you have, and what you have not,
when they're through, the tally revals to them
they must charge you more, of what you haven't got !

Add up all of the times you have contemplated, "No"...
then add up the times you thought, "Yes",
when you subtract one column from the other...
you end up with...well..."Negative Press"!

Consider the "door to door salesman"
it's no wonder they pound down the Coors,
they aren't necessarily celebrating
they're drowning sorrows from all those slammed doors !

But now, I'm sorry I started this
for in tallying my life, it appears...
that when tallying up all my blessings
I'm not worthy, I'm sooo in arrears !
