Harvest Moon

In this evening
love is cast
an open season
while it lasts

Above these stars
spells are claimed
for each their own
this time insane

Emotions flurry
like flakes of snow
men alert
not safe below

in joyous revel
each. ladies cheer
harpoon in hand
a heart to spear

a coming in night
shadows afar
hide if you will
our powers in stars

searched, every nook
cranny you find
dragged from safety
by arms biding time

we will love you forever
to death from now
as greet the evening
morning does bow

welcoming hearts
taken perilous in plight
by dreams of future
in harvest this night

You are So right on the money. and it's something that really never changes ,men VS women, Who is the more cunning hunter. most guys go out to have a good time, and some times they get more than they were expecting. old adage. the hunter and the hunted? Very lovely poem indeed. Your words are so romantic under this harvest moon. I love the fifth stanza, our powers in stars. Strong. So the hunt is on hey. Who won? lol. new That is a weird way to catch a man but if you did. it would be permanent,thanx for the great comments I;m trying to wean myself off the site, so I’m going to miss all, I should say the circle of poets, we each connect with so well,seren, green eyes ian docm, geez, and a few others. WHAT THE? Why? No I wont be nosy, I will miss ya heaps, I hope you and yours are all okay? I wish I could stay in touch, I actually cant keep up sometimes either and no one believes I am computer illiterate. Ask Seren. This is as far as I go, I still like the old fashioned letter writing. It will be sad to see u go but maybe u will pop in occasionally just to say hi.I suppose all I can do is wish you and yours all the best and say do not stop writing. I have been in bed sick for the last two days and I got up to find out you are leaving us :( I dont know whats going on but my darling friend I am going to miss you very much I dont know what to say I am shattered and i will miss you but respect you having to take yourself away if thats what you need to do ... what a crying shame I cannot read your wonderful words anymore ... Excuse me, John, but why on earth would you want to *wean yourself off this site*? Please 'splain. I know we all tend to go *inward* from time to time, nothing wrong with that imo, but you make it sound (ok, my interpretation!) as if you think Neopoet an addiction that is *bad* for you. Enjoyed the poem, btw...even if I think that the individual heart needs to rethink its us vs them whether or not the battle of the sexes is so equated. Love is a battlefield.
