Inverted into the Skies

A Thirty storey sky scraper

The birds fly past, fast in a jagged taper

We’re feeling appealingly daring

And stop aloft, twenty stories up.

I remember suspending from a window

Witnessing our accidental summit in the sky.

We were lying on our backs, me and her,

Heads and chests set, gravity denied.

An effortless turn of the head

Fashioned offerings of vertigo.

There’s so much we can learn up here

So much we want to know.

We visualize the sky

Masquerading as the ocean.

The clouds gently glide across it,

In smoothly soothing slow motion

We were beyond everything.

As we looked to the bustling road beneath,

Leaning our heads backwards,

Hands tightly gripping our release

Taking no notice of the sensation of falling,

Trusting, knowing we are safe,

Our imaginations flow, soaring.

Drifting below us, shifting

Was the bottomless rift

Bliss being introspective

Ambushing our eyes

In a deception of perspective

the ever preasant child in

the ever preasant child in you is let out again to roam the sky, and bring us home tales of dreamy heights, that fill the waiting fingers of your fellow children with the candy of your heart, and all we can say is more ,more ,more.........O

Dear Boss

I love a romantic tale. This was very soothing. Read it and I felt like I could see the sky, masquerading as the ocean, my fave lines.I hate the feeling of falling, and, but I like the title. Great poem, Love Lyz. XX
