When The Moon Hangs Blue

When The Moon Hangs Blue

When the moon hung
blue in the sky,
I attached all my hopes
to your whispered promises;
softly articulated lies
like rose petals hiding
cruel thorns of veracity.
Blind to the truth,
I heard and saw no more than
what I needed at the time.
You made it so easy
with your inviting smiles
of warm desire fashioned
for only me, the object
of all your pent up passion.
You bade me welcome
to wade into your
warm waters of seduction.
Gladly, I followed where you led,
willingly, I turned
my heart over to your care.
Never had I known, before,
that raw truth can be ugly,
stark in its unfolding.
Not until I found you
in bed with another she,
as besotted with you
as only one in love can be.
So I leave her to you;
I will not beg, rage
or make ultimatums,
but silently take the
broken pieces of my heart
and, in time, patch them
back into a functioning
organ, once again,
when the moon hangs blue
in a late September sky...

Dear Cat

A very poignant story of a betrayed love, deep from the heart, charged with emotion and tears. I really felt the poem tingling alive, but lonely. Cat, this is a work of art, and I bet you'll find a deserving place on the spotlight. Best Regards, Hugo

You have bewitched me in blue , and taken me on a journey of pain and betrayal this is an awesome write but then they always are when they come from you pen , love and higgest bugs Jayne but silently take the broken pieces of my heart and, in time, patch them back into a functioning organ, once again, when the moon hangs blue in a late September sky… these are my favourite words they finish it off with panache ... wonderful write hun I cannot find fault :) ...

Dear Cat

The pain and sorrow of this write is heartfelt. The courage of the betrayed has mellowed the thoughts of revenge which comes to my mind first. This is an awesome write and yet you always portray with many of your poems, beauty from the soul. Loved it. Lyz. XX

How Beautiful!

I have been known to finish others sentences for them and I usually know what my hubby is thinking. It used to surprise him that I would make a comment on something he hadn't yet said, LOL. This is one of the reasons that my grandmother used to call me "spawn of the devil" (I'm long since over it) I guess I must have really freaked her out. Love, Cat (Higgest Bugs)

As your writing usually is , this poem is excellent. I love the title it sure does draw the reader in. You always had trouble with titles but I think you've been able to overcome that block. Is that my Benny I see? Chrys

Oh wow

This is definitely a soul-grabbing piece... and the title was excellent - very creative and set the tone for the rest of the work. My lazy nature wanted to see broken up stanza form, but I shut her up and plowed forward. Jai purrs her hellos to Beau. ~Jess K. ----------------------- "You must cut down the mightiest tree in the forest with.....a herring!" - The Knights who say Ekky-ekky-ekky-ekky-p'kang-zoop-boing-g'dem-zoo-owli-zhiv!... and formally.... Dear Boni

Thanks, for your support. I wrote this one after a dream I'd had... about that guy in my past. I woke up and there it was in my head. I thought, why now, after all these years? Must be the same school of life for I can relate to yours as well. *Which are fantastic, by the way!) Always, Cat

you wove me into that picture like I could feel the pounding hea

Oh Cat, you wove me into that picture like I could feel the pounding heart & shallow breath of such betrayal & I do know that sense, but you painted it so tangiably As I read your description of the seduction I remember thinking how I would have gone there too it sounded so good in your words. A terrible (in the tragic story) & brilliant write Cat... woooh I am quite bowled over. I do hope it isn't a true write & if so I wish you every healing warmth & goodness that ever existed to speed the mending heart. & a blue moon every month to ensure it. xx Cheers Anni~ "Making the decision to have a child is momentous. Bravo

I enjoyed this one Cat I can't say I have felt what it feels like to be cheated on that way But I do know what it is like to feel cheated by someone you loved. My heart too has shattered and I am fighting my way to glue it back to that ORGAN. I love how you say "Warm Waters of Seduction" it is so sexy and evil Keep it up

Sometimes life delivers - more

There is sadness in the knowing but a kind of understanding of change too. I felt your title was exceptional. There are so many place one can go with a blue moon. You leave a reader with hope and wisdom.

Cat,

I can't believe I missed out on this one, the title alone is capturing. I think many can relate to the story you tell here, it sadly is a universal theme. Yours, ~Nina
