Stormy Weather
Lightning fills the sky
And it’s almost like daybreak
For just the split second it’s lit
Blink momentarily
And that’s it, you’ve missed it.
Although its glow is different
The lightning’s glare is white
In contrast to the sun
And its blaring orange light
For every bolt cracking through the atmosphere
As if the sky were made of glass
I smile, standing in the street
Arms outstretched, hoping rains will last.
