STATES OF BEING

there is a emptiness so vastit cannot be contained -there is a pain so exquisiteit can leave one maimed there is a man so heartlesshe moves on with disdainthere is a woman so bereaved, she cries out in vain there is a border so guarded it cuts off the promised land -there is a discovery so recklessit can kill the bravest man there is a love so lostit can never be foundthere is a heart so twistedit leaves the mind unsound...

Thank you Raven!

For your generous comments! I'm so glad it resonated for you too! I could almost feel the depth of the despair as I wrote it! Cheers Boni

So sad, so true, sad but

So sad, so true, sad but true. I too agree with Raven, you say it so succinctly no more need be said. We can feel the emptiness well evoked here. Yours Ann of Norway

Glad you didn't say GOOD GRIEF!

"Guardians off guard, wasted by a Culture whose crassness caused A desolate Web, while hope spins Eternal in her forever moans" ps. There is such a thing as a Fertile Void: We appreciate deserts as useful topographies of the planet. So should we trust our own empty and desolate moments as incubation periods in the evolutionary ecology of our inner world! Thanks for stopping by! Bonita j

Boni

Dear Bonita. This one caught my eye. As always, your depiction of emotional states is captivating. To me, the last stanza is a little superfluous, as it's written in between the lines of the first three. Yours, Espen.

Yes and No Espen!

But thanks anyway! Me thinks the link between loss and insanity is that fine that it goes undetected to a lot of people! hence the need to 'spell it out'! Thanks for you critique nonetheless! few are as astute! Boni
