Summer's Leaving Song

Winters coming around much too quickly
Summer's soon to take leave
As we enjoy the sun, the gentle breeze
We realize the sun hides his face in haste
Night is coming too fast
The days grow shorter
Trees change their leaves
Turning the closer skies nearly gold
Summers warm winds are changing
Winter solstice almost here
It's not too late to remember,
Picking berries and apples
Listening to music through the radio
While sitting in my room
Dreaming of summer love
Sitting in the branches of the trees
Discussing life,love, and future dreams
Walking the streets late in the evening
It feels like seven, but it's already ten o'clock
Swimming at the lake,
Water so blue, that it seems green.
Late summer rains
Color the skies again,
And bring memories of past summers alive
Friends, family, loves and lust.
Summer leaving
But going way too early
Winter's grown impatient.
Seizing the last day
When the sun chose to show his face.
As the lunar mother, lulls us to sleep
Memories creep
Of the days before frost kissed this place
And winter wind's were a soft summer breeze.
Just wait till next summer.
More adventures await.
And through the winter months.
Imagination left to roam free
While sitting in the class room.
Ditzy dreamer,
Pay attention to your studies

Ditzy? Hardly Phoenix, I

Ditzy? Hardly Phoenix, I enjoyed the read. I think you can substitue a few of your "summer" "winter" uses, using more metaphoric applications to imply the seasons, plus a mention of fall may be called for. But that did not distract me from the romantic reflection and enjoyment in your longing. Great read. Julie

Ditzy dreamers become, artists, musicans, inventors, creators , they create our world. and I loved this write well done :) kind regards Jayne :) We did not change as we grew older; we just became more clearly ourselves. Lynn Hall ...
