For a Song

With immense anticipation
I waited for Brad to arrive,
we were going to play our songs
and of course, we'd play them LIVE !

Brad Maverick's my guitarist
(or I could be his harmonicist, too);
either way we cherish the days
and nights we can play them, through.

Brad and Doc were again united
in the High Desert on Labor Day,
he showed up here with plenty of beer
so we could play the Maverick way.

We play, of course the classics
but a few songs we have wrote,
we Mavericks take songs seriously
and we play them note for note.

The blues is where it's at for us
it has been, all along;
with Brad Maverick's guitar and Doc his harp
we'll do most anything for a song !

Music

Like ringing a bell, was like a mini auto biography really a nice writing, I enjoy Blues and Jazz, they , always have been my favorite. nice description of what had been revealed on this little jaunt, in the high desert, must have been a Great Labor Day. nicely done. Mantiscepter

Dear Doc

I am a singer and my partner is a bass guitarist, he has 3 bass guitars and 3 six string elctrics and semi acoustic cort lots of amps and a drum kit and my daughter plays the six string has her own guitar and two of my sons have decided they want to play ... you would love our house we are always jamming and we love the blues and country but we play a little of everything though ... I was a classically trained singer and then after I had my kids switched over to doing band work and gigs ... I miss singing since I have been sick and this write made me long to jam the last few months I just havent had the energy but , you make me long for it, might have to have a sing today and let loose :) you made me want too lol love and biggest hugs Jayne x x Forgot to mention I can play the trumpet,flute and piano LOL so as you can understand we love music :) lmao

...you never said you were "musical". It doesn't really surprise me, as rythmic as your poetry is...I just happened to write this one straight in the website, no notes.
