A Missed Friend-For Jess

I haven't known him
very long,
But Jess and me?
we got along
A cutting tongue
an acid mouth,
The kindest heart
in the south
He hides it well
but I know,
its full of love
if you let him show
Here's a surprise
I'll Share with you,
our darlin' Jess
thought my poetry blew !
Not liking the rhyme
was his choice,
but friendship held
each ceded a point

And once again
what a surprise,
me and Jess
got crossed wires

But messages calm
sent back and forth,
found a friendship
of true worth
He's mad as a cut snake
"sorry my love"
but Jess speaks his mind
middle Finger raised above
Our little elf friend
Is wandering alone,
and heart's lay in pieces
until he comes home

I felt your poem, all the way to my toes. Jess and I didn't always see eye to eye either, but he is my friend and what I love about him is his honesty. acid tongue or no. I am missing him greatly. What I've found about Jess-elf, is that we either love him or hate him. I happen to love him, especially because he is human and fallible... It is going to be a very lonnnnnnng six months... Coming and going wish they would make up their minds which buttons they leaving lol and let us know what the hell they for ... anyhooooo lol thanks for the read I know you love our Jess and I miss him muchly he emailed me this morning and said he was touched by this and that I had his permission to post it ... I know there would be a few people maybe a little offended ? they are? they an bite my ass,I am past caring ... I love Jess warts and all,He doesnt hate all my poetry just the rhyming ones, and we write well together I am missing that,and I cannot wait for him to come back and see what little treasures he has for us all :D much love and big hugs Jayne x x x

Agree with the Boss about the fav stanza... I am in the middle of writing a poem called *I'm taking my stars back*, I lost one I wrote a few days ago..and so it went nowhere in the great etherworld ;-( I've also lived long enough to know that some folks look to find fault and *never give peace a chance* and some folks choose to create friendships. ~HugZ

That speaks so much of Jess that stanza that dont give a fuck attitude, I think thats one of my favourite things about him, I wish I could be a little more like him in that respect, I care too much am sure to be grey by 45 ... And your so right being friends with someone is a choice and seeing a cup as half full might make me a bit soft but hey soft is ok I can live with it sad but true, lol Hugz and love Jayne x x

Question..

what the heck happened to Jess? I haven't been on for a while, but I've noticed a whole lot of poems for Jess and I have no idea what's going on.. Your poem is sweet and I used to browse poems just to read his comments... I stumbled a bit on the more "reaching" rhyme, (surprise --- crossed wires) but I think it's a nice poem to write for someone. I remember when I got my first comment from him, it was like, "WOW! my FIRST Jess comment!!", I was so excited.. I was barely a blip on his radar, but it makes me a little sad that such a.. liked member isn't here. No matter how he seemed to piss people off, at least he'd come back with a lame apology to make the pissed party feel better.. You're right, his "fuck it, I'll be honest" attitude is something to admire.. although it might not be the best idea to use that attitude on people who can't handle it. Nice poem.

Just so I dont raise any eyebrows I will just say that dear Jess is taking 6 month 'time out' for being a naughty elf , as I can se you know him well :P I dont have to explain that to you ... He's asked us not to campaign for him to be brought back so we are following his wishes, but that doesnt meen there cant be the odd I miss Jess poem and there have been a few , I miss writing and laughing with the mad buggar hes a great mate and I cannot wait for him to come back ... thanks for the read so glad you liked it Jess was touched by it when i sent it to him, and one thing ? Jess never commented on my poems I dont think ever !! but he liked what we wrote together lmao go figure gotta love him though kind regards Jayne x x

Yep, this is a perfect Jess poem. I had written one about a year ago - just reposted it, actually. We'd gotten into a dust-up about my political correctness comment that I have on my profile, and it was the most fun I had in a long time. There's a line between debating and arguing, unfortunately some people took some of his comments to be argumentative when in fact he was merely debating. And I go back a couple of years now. We are always at odds. He has given so much along with the grief to the site. I'm sure there are many others who desrve being suspended. I agree with Jonathan Moores point of view. We do miss him and hope he will be back soon

I think that I was sick when you posted this I dont remember getting an email for it so I apologise for the lateness of my reply .... Fleurs new comment drew my attention to it ... Jess ... me and Jess have had a smallish misunderstanding but it was sorted with a couple of nice sedate messages explaining the mix up .. we have writen together chatted together lol and I hope one day soon meet him ... hes a character is our Jess and its just not the same without him I miss him all the time ... love and hugs Jayne x x x
