Liturgy for September 7th

Kyrie Eleison

sometimes i am so close to God
i am mistaken,
thoughts of white doves follow me
like loving apostles
i am being,
Christed

there are no lepers in Parma
and the dead roam the streets
with the living,
it's hard sometimes to
tell
behind the plastered faces
of perception, lines drawn
from maps with nowhere to go

the homeless live on bouquets
of other-worldly compassion
like lilies in the field
with dirty fingertips,
one more day, one more day

prayers beneath mortgaged breaths

the sunrise repatriates
those who are sentenced to die

a dog barks,
I go about my business.

2.

"Domine, Miserere!"

there is no escape
from awareness
the heart is not a caged
beast
but a memory of the Beloved
tugging
at your breast

I'll just say these words, you have written, are = to: and have surpassed , all expectations. Awesome.. I really enjoyed reading this poem, wonderful use of words, and direction Mantiscepter:
