A Sailor Of Dreams
The time went swiftly, His thoughts were deep,
with the memories of loved ones, that would join his sleep.
Days were as minutes, thoughts close of two, that had seen
many ventures, companioned life through. On the wings of
kindness, this life was his mate, holding firm as a vessel,
dreams gave birth to his fate. A weathered old sailor,
alone, fast to his room, surrounded by land now.
seemed as if . his doom. but deep in his void he could
sense the room moving, smelling fresh salty air,
see the windows as portholes, seagulls flying in pairs.
He could hear the rough voices, of companions long gone,
feel the slap of the sails,as these visions held strong.
Each day was the same, his smile could be viewed,
as he rocked in his corner, humming soft sailing blues,
His forehead was weathered, deep wrinkles did show,
that stretched to his cheek bones, eyes black, softly glowed.
A brow stern, not angry brushed as hedges above
with sparse greying hair, not many could love. but loved
the old man was, though lost in the words,he found a love
and kindness in" his world: seen and heard.
with the memories of loved ones, that would join his sleep.
