Finding Heart in Tears

A day that should bring
happy things,
but memories of you
was all it did bring

A dozen years past,
since you went away,
and every step taken
from then till today

I walked in your footprints
light and deft,
always minding,
not to smudge your step

Passing mistakes
piled in heaps,
and your there saying
"Honey learn as you weep"

Words of wisdom,
now I know,
you only wanted
me to grow

The tears that I cry
contain a nucleus of you,
and surrounding the rest
pure indigo blue

A day wont go past
that I wont miss you,
but sweet are the thoughts
when I dream in the dew

Inveigled in these thoughts
my beacon of one,
my beginning and end
that time begun

Dearest Cat

Tribute to Mom. I knew as soon as I read the lines: Passing mistakes piled in a heap, and you there saying," Honey learn as you weep" I think mom's are the same all over the world. Wanting us to make our own mistakes, but learning from them as we go. Just lovely! L & Hugz, Gee.

happy Day Seren!

a beautiful poem written superb My parents are gone (They adopted me loved me raised me and sisters brothers) looking back I feel their guidance now their words their love on my shoulder and firm voice Oh we had our times but in the end they were always there when I came home from adventures and misadventures never turning me away when my sails were proud or in tatters now I hold the wheel and say a prayer when passing that old port turning to the night coming facing the storms alone yet knowing that they are here and near as your poems describes Fantastic tribute
