TINTED GLASSES
TINTED GLASSES Our chief of Police issued an orderBanning cars with tinted glassesExcept those cleared by him aloneTo protect men with money and power The charge was considered sensibleTo stop masking men of the underworldHiding in the day to commit their crimesAgainst the innocent and the unsuspecting Tinted glasses became a status thingSeparating the poor from the richOfficials of government took advantageTo parade in limousine cars, unnoticed So enjoined, it became a serious offenceTo drive a tinted car without a permitAs checkpoints doubled to make sureAnd bank notes pass from hand to hand Tinted carriages come in from the wharfsCustoms and police see and say nothingUntil they are bought and registeredThen the buyers are made to suffer for it We do not manufacture these cars hereNot even the components or spare partsOur Industries are not well equippedYet, we refuse to change with the times Where is your clearance, they ask all the timeA law abiding citizen becomes an offenderFor buying a car with tinted rear side glassesAnd runs into trouble with the police Make them suffer, make them spendYet there is no law in the status bookThat says we should not drive these carsThan a mere pronouncement from a man
