rogue butterfly ~ (With a tip o' the hat to Rett) [now w/edits for your listening pleasure]

in another life
i am a rogue butterfly,
flying in straight lines
sipping the great flower
of being...
leave my
golden butterfly prints
all over the 11th dimension
i flitter in
i flitter out
pollinating flowers
that have yet to be seen
but at dusk
i reassemble myself
enfold wings 'round me,
a bat
outta hell
looking for fresh blood.
(would you offer me your neck?)

For you, the butterfly

Always moving yet enchanted are your words. I love the transformation, from free floating butterfly to a vampire bat at night, trapped by thirst. A beautiful Poem. Lyz.

Lyz again

I know there is a black side to this but when written with words of beauty, at least in the beginning, that's how I read these descriptive words, it is a great piece of writing and I am sorry if you thought it sounded like a fractured fairy tale to me. I think the thought of butterflies, appeal to most as a delicate creature and this stood out the most. Yea!! for the ending, great twist, but I still think its beautiful. Lyz

No need to apologize ever,

No need to apologize ever, Lyz... I'm just thinking it would make a great superhero alter ego for me... A butterfly costume by day... doing nice things, nicely and a bat costume (oh was that done already?) by night and doing... the undoing of things. Lol. ~A

Oh Anna, I know it has been said & said, but you are a writer of immense talent & humanity (even when it's about insect ways), I love your wonderful balance of deep, dear, gratitude & a wicked grin chaser... irreverence in the most wondrous liberating finale. Bravo & Cheers Anni~ "A word is not the same with one writer as with another. One tears it from his guts. The other pulls it out of his overcoat pocket". ~Charles Peguy

You rogue, I love that word

You rogue, I love that word and here you have camouflaged yourself in this delicate form to leave your mark and what a mark, one that oozes slowly the red of a fatal kiss delivered to the great flower of being in its dualistic colours and its dark and light flashes of sound like the bats communication with earth, with heaven, with paradise and with HELL. From Ann of Norway, no I will not offer you my neck!

Love the twist

at the end. Really enjoyed this a lot. Now THAT is my idea of a butterfly. It's like I have told Katie when doing titles. I don't do butterflies well. *LOL* I like yours! Respectfully, Rett: "When I was born I was so surprised I didn't talk for a year and a half." Gracie Allen
