The Tenacious Terrier of Truth
Like a four legged, short tailed bitch,I had to snap at the trailing sliverOf question,I couldn’t just let it be,Even though life was richWith the treasures of friendship I had felt it inside meA doubt, a nagging, an unheard voice,It mouthed words I couldn’t hearSo I pressed ever closer,Straining,I couldn’t just let it be. The opened gap, worried and chewedPoured forth a wave of truthI nearly drowned in its wake.Floundering, unable to breathDoggy paddling through the murky waterIt drained away and leftPain and doubt and angerBut shining in its stead was Truth. Gleaming, pristine, the tree of truth.Exhausted I dragged my body and squattedAnd pissed on itMe, the tenacious terrier of truth
