Last Leaf Leaving

Last Leaf Leaving
-------------------------------------------

As the last brown leaf
Fails its grasp of the tree,
Floating down to earth
Like a bewildered kite
To land softly.
A papery crisp,
To be trodden into the muck
of the season,
While I ponder the years
beneath my yellow
rubber galoshes.....

Last leaf...

I like this, it is the perfect feel for this time of year, and you have a good poem here. "While I ponder the years beneath my yellow rubber galoshes." I remember having those when I was a kid. Was that your thought? Wondering where the years went? Nice job. Geezer.
