September First

An early fall-like morning here, in the land of O hi o
the sun is shining with winter's light,
the air so brisk and freshly cold
it rattles your senses
for your bones remember
the thickness of your blood
in the stories of your soul
rapt with attention

Wake up!
All who hunger and thirst!
Life is a fire, consuming
all around you
breaking down
your walls of silence.
Life is a crazed and demented woman
dragging you out
from your castle high
on the hinterland
where white & black sands
sing the songs
of the desert Mariah,
its Messiah agog
with temptations and vexations
of the spirit
where inequity,
enmity rule
with the fist of a thousand pardons

where Muhammad's steadfast mountain
collides with  the beauty of even one jungle orchid
slithering in the sound of
creation,

preaches to you with
every human delight.

Anna

Shhhhhh with all that cold and winter talk! What a poem to end the night with! Maybe I'll read it again when I wake up, and somehow absorb its energy. =) ~Jess K. ----------------------- "You must cut down the mightiest tree in the forest with.....a herring!" - The Knights who say Ekky-ekky-ekky-ekky-p'kang-zoop-boing-g'dem-zoo-owli-zhiv!... and formally.... Nice poem

It has a peaceful darkness, a twilight full of promises for poets who have drunk the magick of a love potion. It's the fragrance of the unruled wishes just waking up to new life. I think your poem is well written, and still, and beautiful, like every human delight. Regards, Hugo
