Night Clouds Touch Treetop

Night Clouds Touch Treetops

In the warm night air
The stars shined bright
The crescent moon lit the heavens
A walk through the path of tests
That reveals strength

A walk along the seashore
Squatted in the damp sand
I watched over the vastness, as
The ocean waters danced
The darkness lingered above

Night creatures sang songs
Of happy times
Free, without worry or thought
As boaters in a canoe
Paddled right pass wood drifts

The night clouds hover low
Touched the treetops
Grown along the river’s edge
The moon kissed the waves
At high tide

Restive and tranquil

In europe in the late eighteen hundreds painters were emerging expressing themselves in new formats They painted places where they found peace At the seashore or rivers large works they were called "Expressionists" your descriptive lines about trees and clouds and water and boaters immediately brought this back to me I learned all this from taking art in high school I am not quick enough or retentive then or now for Higher level ed But i was impressed at the painters and the scenes what peaceful moments some Just like you poem did for me on a rather stressed out day thank you Barbara
