Whispering Mysteries

Australian Stars are shining
in a southern night,
beating with a heart
streaming with no fright

Visions in a land
that first made up the dream,
all that you can see
is not what it may seem

Mysteries in a place
where no white men pass,
walking in a wilderness
seeping with years past

Emus range along
loping with a stride
kangaroos are bouncing
head held up in pride

Crocodiles our dinosaurs
lurking in the murk
don't you go a swimming
so you don't get hurt

Whispers in the rocks
making blood ice cold,
shivers in a night
shaking legs do hold

Eerie are the plains
echoed life imports,
bits of mystical memory
flowing through they sort

Religions of all colours
and faces of all hues,
meeting hand to hand
they fly across the blue

Filling up with culture
from many different lands,
mixing into magic
with the joining of our hands

Filling to the brim
pride does steel our backs,
but helping other lands
our army changes tack

Dancing with the stars
or singing to the moon,
we will always strive
but singing our own tune

Darling Seren, I would love

Darling Seren, I would love to see this poem...illustrated in a young person's book. It would be awesome for both native Aussies and we who have fallen in love with the country. I recently watched *Australia* and though I enjoyed it, I thought it didn't quite go far enough. Love, Anna p.s. Happy 5(?) days before your birthday.

Dear Anna

Thank you so much for your comment, I have watched australia as well, I loved it, though like you it could have gone a little further with the history that was shown, a light brush was held in the painting of some scenes ... and I felt that in some ways it didnt show the true plight of the aborgines back then, but I wont go into that its a whole other poem , our lost generation, I have a friend who is part of the lost generation so I do feel strongly about it .... yeah its 4 days till my birthday big 40 lol ... thank you so much Anna I am glad you liked this one ... much love and hugz Jayne x x "We did not change as we grew older; we just became more clearly ourselves. Dear Seren

I love putting your writing name, it is for a great writer, so I am glad you are back and this one came from a tired girls heart. Can not wait to see what you write when you have energized. I felt this one, with summer coming on, it actually made me warm. And hey, you forgot your snake and one for the arachnaphobes, the dreaded funnel web, lol. Just kidding. We are lucky, and I feel lucky to be one of those faces in your beautiful poem and it reminds me of the Alice, Darwin and all that still need to be discovered in this place. You described it well, and if I didn't live here I would want to visit. My fave now. Well done, looooooooovvvvvvvveeeeeeedd it.NOMINATE, NOMINATE.10 stars. Great vision, Jayne. Love Lyz.x.

Serendipity

Love the above, but by shortening it, Gives an air of mystique and a wanting to know the origin behind it, which I know now.Lol.And one day I may see" The works of Seren" on a cover and I will have to buy it, And hey, I know your name, every time Jade visits you and comes home,Jayne,Jayne,Jayne. She has a lot of respect for you as I have, for taking her under your wing, so to speak.I suppose she has told you I am very protective of her, too much really, but when u lose a child, the pain stays forever and I don't want go thru the pain of losing any more children, they are my existence.I lost a grandchild recently, the third, through miscarriages, but the pain is still the same. So my lovely girl, you have wrote a beauty in this one, can't specify that enough and in our, Jades and my eyes, a star. Believe. Love Lyz.x.

We are very rich here on

We are very rich here on Neopoet. Blessings to all. Deep love & Respect. ~A p.s. I am however, a bit jealous, how wonderful that some poets here get to know one another on a more personal level. Or did you know one another before coming to Neopoet?
