she sleeps in the sand

she sleeps in the sand
white-breasted with the moon
his hands lush with the foliage
of her ripening
they meet like this
he was the word
she is the flesh

2

at night the sky looks like ink,
spilling
over linen-white clouds,
stars shining with the gist
of things
being what they are,
candles of thought
burn bright, fall into
my mind,
colours shift, billow
softly behind closed eyes,
I sink into awareness
catch myself
falling,
my body a puppet
on strings
moved about to tell a story
by an unseen master,
I succumb to the kiss
of dreams
as he enters my soul.

This is hauntingly beautiful and feels like a sweet caress on the soul. Loved this: I sink into awareness catch myself falling, my body a puppet on strings moved about to tell a story by an unseen master, Always, Cat

Anna

You keep doing it again and again. Your deeply existentialist poetic vein is really amazing, like a night sky that looks like ink. Great rythm! Gentle regards, Hugo

Your poem is very beautiful

Your poem is very beautiful and almost magical. I so love your poems because of their depth and wisdom. And the wonderful feeling of life itself, which is brought into the heart. You are a wonderful poet, and very talented. It is a pleasure to see the beauty of your soul. . *softly behind closed eyes, I sink into awareness catch myself falling, my body a puppet on strings moved about to tell a story by an unseen master, I succumb to the kiss of dreams as he enters my soul...* .. Yes ! How beautiful !! Love. o Molly

Dear Anna

There is a surreal feel to this one , I was coming to Pm you and I spotted this one the name caught my eye LOL kill two birds with one stone lol ...This is an awesome poem I love it,its beautiful everything about it ... I was at the hospital today and when I left I was waiting for Boss to pick me up and I wandered into a bookshop I was perusing the shelves and found a copy of Kahil Gibran's Prophet , never having read anything of his but the quotes that you and another poet have shared over time ... I brought it and its now sitting next to me and I am starting to read it ... I wanted to thank you for if I hadn't heard his name through you I wouldnt have ever known ... what beautiful words he writes to the heart and from the heart .. makes you think and think and think .. Just wanted to know your words touch minds all over the world ;) love and hugz Jayne btw the loo is working again :P "We did not change as we grew older; we just became more clearly ourselves. Thank you all for reading

Thank you all for reading and many blessings of love and peace. I think that's what my poem was about. ~~~ Jaynelove, imo, Gibran's poem about Love is the watershed of all love poetry. My heart softens every time I read it. Perhaps you'll venture into his other books of poetry... I send you endless hugs of healing love. ~A
