The Writer

           The Writer

   Quietly she sat there wondering
Thinking how her life had changed
Knowing always the world is turning
   So nothing stays the same

As he sat there writing, she watched him
Saw his face,  so in thought
She so wondered what he was thinking
The depths of him she sought

   Slowly he started typing
Then she saw his excitement grow
His fingers flowed 'cross the keyboard
   A sight  she'd never known

   His body contained the spirit
This spirit, she saw it bloom
She saw his soul flow outward
Saw him blossom in the room

All his thoughts, came through his fingers
All his love came out in words
   Darkest thoughts and deepest secrets
His true feelings contained in verse

This is it, she sat there thinking
This is why she loves him so
All this passion deep inside him
As he types, she sees it flow

She too, knows of this passion
   Of the feeling from within
   Wanting always and so needing
To write of love, and life and sin

In her chest, her heart is racing
In her eyes, she feels the tears
At long last things come together
Her soul mate, after all these years.

This is a great piece of writing...does he exist?...I hope he does...with your talent and his, think of the poetry you can create. To communicate to your love via poetry would be a wonderful experience. I hope he writes you a response in poetic form. You write with such simplicity, a story in poem...you should be proud of this piece. Definitely an Awesome rating. regards, HS

H.S. Thanks for the read, my friend. He most certainly does exist. You will now have a chance to read some of his writing as he has finally joined NEO. Check general poetry, he posted his first there. Vampyre V. Once again, thanks Dan for your warm comments. Each word is greatly appreciated. Sue

I love it.

I don't really think the first stanza fits with everything else. Only because the rest of the poem is her watching him. But that's just me. Great poem. :)

Thanks for the read BP. I

Thanks for the read BP. I can see the point you made about the 1st stanza, although, to me, it was a lead in for the rest. "She" was thinking of her life now that "he" has become such a large part of it. I will think on some changes that might make the transition smoother. Thanks for the comments. Sue

Awesome,

You can write girl, I can see her standing by her man, This is such a story of passion in more ways than one, and you portrayed it brilliantly. Lyz.x.

This piece shows that two people can be one at a distance, you are watching a spirit flow and breathe with a life that is part of you. This is beautiful and filled with the joining just by watching, Yours Ian.T

Hi Lyz, Thank you for such

Hi Lyz, Thank you for such a nice comment. Don't you find it easy to write a nice piece when you are so inspired by another? I know YOU do...I've read your post. This is one of my own personal favorites as well, because of the subject. "He" is often my muse. Thanks for taking the time to read and respond. It's greatly appreciated. Sue

Hi Yenti, I thank you for taking the time to read and respond to this piece. Distance is something the heart cannot measure or understand. For we writers, that's a very good thing ! Thanks again for your comment. Sue
