The Old Road

Today we walked,
down a cobble stone road.
it led to the beach;
to  a beautiful mode

will you be here tomorrow?
this question is mine;
I search too" for loving.
in each morning that shines.

We met with eyes :
that lingered in quest.
studied each movement,
our lives put to test.

in past; we held feelings.
we'd left in it's care.
not bringing to days;
for others to share.

time changes all:
as we face a new day.
the two  of us wonder.
if loves still the way.

challenging memories;
closeness" brings thought.
of times we remember.
the ones we've forgot.

I know we are happy ,
when were close to each.
but still" we are careful.
just a distance" from reach.

of arms that would fondle;
hearts" that would beat.
in a rhythm eternal:
for not always" life's sweet.
