Mercury

I'm the sunlit passerby

White collar, blue garb

I'm the beggar in praise

Worship a world from my leg up

Free of charge

I'm the darkened hands

Lending weight in small trade

I am rotations of shoes on wheels

And tip toed high heel strut

Deep blood labia

I'm the click of a cracking nut

The black coffee I drink

Letter on my lap

A quaint, drumming finger tap

I am you

Reminding me of:Guest House

Reminding me of: Guest House ~ Rumi This being human is a guest house. Every morning a new arrival. A joy, a depression, a meanness, some momentary awareness comes As an unexpected visitor. Welcome and entertain them all! Even if they're a crowd of sorrows, who violently sweep your house empty of its furniture, still treat each guest honorably. He may be clearing you out for some new delight. The dark thought, the shame, the malice, meet them at the door laughing, and invite them in. Be grateful for whoever comes, because each has been sent as a guide from beyond. Love & Light, Anna

As Rumi says "Say I am you" this is brilliant also

As Rumi says "Say I am you" this is brilliant also & it is late & I am too tired to sing your praises with the eloquence you deserve, but I am sure it has been done above... I will say merely how much I am enjoying everything I read of yours... My one query (nothing important) was about the "darken hand"... should it be darkened? I know not at all, & really it is such a slight the brilliance of the piece shines wonderfully... want it back in Spotlight, I see I missed that! I do love this so much... You are wonderful... We find ourselves everywhere don't we. Bet many wish they were YOU, talented sprite you are. Cheers Anni~ "A word is not the same with one writer as with another. One tears it from his guts. The other pulls it out of his overcoat pocket". ~Charles Peguy

Thanks Boni, Interesting experience to be in the limelight there. But it's the commentary from you and the others that in the end make the day. Yours, Espen

It was wonderful to get to your site and find this beautiful poem. This is the best I have read from you so far. I like the way you write. The simplest is often the most beautiful. Interesting and different and very special. odd molly

This IS out of date but!

Are you? :- This is oddly fascinating with strange bits of sound and sight, human and concrete, I think the nut could CRACK!!! with a loud noise as clicking is more gentle. I like too the different sensations of touch, or feel, the BLACK coffee the light letter in your lap, must look up labia! "I’m the darken hands."....................(darken (ED) poetic yet not logic)  "I am rotations of shoes on wheels".......(I like this, oooo!) Yes write some more on this theme do please. Yours Ann of Norway

out of date, new thoughts

Hei Ann, Thanks for your comments on this one. I thought of a cracking sound as a series of connected clicks. Perhaps I need to write it a little differently to express that. A bit of a pickle to work out, though. I'm trying to expand my writing now, but I'll be back for the short stuff when I start missing it. Med vennlig hilsen, Espen.

Bor du i norge?

Eller utenfor norge? Jeg er her i Oslo nå men har et hus i Flatdal Telemark. Autumn is coming and the trees are fussing about in their ochre coloured gowns getting quite het up in the Autumn winds. Het up- that's not far from the Norwegien het eg: hetebölgen, is it!! I didn't think of it before I wrote it down!

Vennlig hilsen, Espen.

Orkney relatives

Hei pä deg Espen, They are perhaps the key to my feeling so at home in Norway because I am blooming British, but I KNOW that I have Viking blood in me. Oh won't it be fun finding out in the not too distant future whether we are Greek or Egyptian, or whatever from our DNA; genes? Did you know that some of the Irish are of Egyptian descent having first settled in Spain, what conundrums of places, we are people on this earth and the whole globe is our country, that's how i feel about it! If you leave Norway I am sure you long to be back? I did even though I had only been here for a year I could cry on the stage without prompting, and I didn't often cry, don't. And when I got here eventually 20 yrs later I kept pinching myself to see if it were really true, I just love nature and the natural peoples of this country, I have been here with a Dane 40 years sh!! I cannot write godt norsk, but am taken for having a norsk dialect by many Nowegians, so speak well with the right accent/song! Ha det bra og vennlig hilsen Ann Odd Molly is Swedish then, or doesn't she count as a Viking?
