SERENDIPITY

SERENDIPITY

"Her alive selfshe felt as dead...so many sorrows had sufficed instead. The joys she once knewwere no longer a succour it was now up to Chance to help her discover...
He stood along side herto guide her by hand -his was the unknown, the hostilethe unwelcome land. She grasped it with trepidationas one would sifting sandforever loosing morethan she could gain -or try to take by command.
When she looked downand saw her soul was bareshe turned as if to gaspand rent at her hair, but what she then felt  came  as a release...

The anguish
she relinquished -as one in repose. She had found the Peacethe bible spoke ofthat only God can dispose."

*Etymology/SERENDIPITY: This word was coined by Horace Walpole, an 18th-century British author, from a fairy tale called "The Princes of Serendip" ("Serendip" was the former name of Sri Lanka). In the story, the eponymous heroes wander around, making unlooked-for discoveries

Taking a ride with happenstance...

Beautiful write B! I really liked the second stanza: He stood along side her to guide her by hand - his was the unknown, the hostile the unwelcome land. Definitely one of the more rhythmically flowing stanzas I have seen from you. I am jealous! Best Mike
