weakness

There is a rage within meA frustrated anger at my ineptnessIt mirrors back a feeling of frailtyIt cracks the illusion of stability I claw for understandingEngulfed in greyThe snow falls outsideShedding brightness on the dayBut life is so serious andI find no one will play I doubt myself againFalling back into the skin of oldSquirming as it tries to sheathMy partially grown bodyI shake it offAnd look at its colourless carcass A sense of mortality and loss of timeEnfold my limbs making me wearyI sense the cycle thenRealising I am at the ebbOf my own emotional tideHaving given too much lightI myself shine less brightly

Thanks Janice for taking the time to read, so often when I put up work it is in the moment and the mood is often as in the poetry but this one has rested for a few months and it is a new experience for me to look at it in a very different frame of mind ...maybe thats the real weakness of humanity , to forget the struggle and just head towards the light regardless.
