The Green Curtain
Swaying in the wind on that summer daygreen like the grass not as the sun could portray. With the windows wide open to welcome my mother's favorite summer breeze,I sat, bitter wishing that moment could freeze. My moment to retaliate with the colors I pleased,Blue and yellow for the summer sun and sky in my fantasy. Those two colors would brighten up the room, instead of the pale green which only consumedthe light in that kitchen where my mother stoodcooking the dinner I languished to look. For the blue and yellow were the sheer colors certainbut when that summer sun shone through, they were the same dreadful green curtains.
