monumental

A statue stands in honor
of a life less ordinary, a
face a name history is
always the same

Immortality set in stone
lasting expression shown
memories fade but a towering
image clings to shade.

A very noble ocupation

as a stonemason, blood sweat and tears. Do not let the photo of me fool you, that was shot in 1989. I look forward to reading more of your work. :)fleur

No matter who the statue

No matter who the statue represents, it is a resting ground for pigeons. Leaves one with a bit of *humble* etched in stone, to be washed away by cleansing rain. lol Much enjoyed this poem, stonecutter. It shows a lovely facet of you. ~A
