Unconcious Bonds

Two lives living so closely,

Yet unknowing neighbors.

Jekyll and Hyde on different shifts.

Awareness is a dream of both.

Suspicion quelled by belief in good,

Attention blurred with compassion.

Evil not concerned with light,

Mercy not a factor.

One cannot help but wonder,

The possibility lessons learned,

May hold back the curse.

Anger can be kept in check.

The clasping of shoulders,

The grip of hands.

Cheek - to - cheek,

Lip service.

Left open for an upper-cut,

Agonizing revelations.

The crime is against one's self,

Chained together for eternity.

Duality.....

Thanks for the comments. I often think about, what makes us so different from all the other animals in this world, and surmise that it not only is our ability to be aware of ourselves, but also aware of the fact we are multiple persons in one body. Self-governing of psyche is the pinnacle of intelligence. Somebody has to be in charge! LOL L & Hugz, Gee,

Original Self

I think you are a poet Geezer my core build was rather a unsteady start and then it fell apart in all the years since I write about some of the stuff Now I know beautiful people who have gone through horror of service and they should be so bitter and terrors but no something some hope some salvation empathy God has reached them and made them kind sensitive caring and giving I have met doctors nurses judges lawyers even Policemen and women ambulance drivers fire captians teachers social workers probation workers many many more service industry workers yes those other workers too and then I have met those with no use of conscience arsonists murderers drug dealers rapists and met those whom had something of a change also man is the most dangerous animal of them all and the most awe inspiring my road of late is to leave the gravity of the past a near impossible feat for there is so much goodness that I have been exposed too through others so many behind me supporting me but I love Robert Lious story and movie adaptions Im building bridges to me and am being healed by souls as I speak one never knows the acts of kindess and its power and one never forgets the cruelties and sourness either Either way I love your poetic commentaries

Me....A Poet?

I hear that word a little more often as of late. Poet. I have only the experience of being a member of Neopoet community, to blame for that! I have learned much, since coming here and meeting all of my fellow 'communicants'. I have all of you to thank for the lessons learned and the corners turned. I feel comfortable enough to stretch my mind and fingers to walk down paths little tread, and blazing new trails to see what lies on the other side of those hills and sometimes mountains. If anyone follows me, I will gladly welcome their company. If I follow another, it is because I enjoy the comradeship, and would commune with like souls. You are one of those most prominet of those Qrg. I am proud to be a poet in your eyes. Thank you, Your friend Gee. P.S. I really like your new portrait.
