If Looks Could Kill

and the word became flesh... ~ We are not gods. We are men and women. and so we have the difficult task of changing flesh into Word. We seek each other out in the night and touch until our bodies disappear, and all that is left of me is a name that you cry in the darkness. ~ and the word became flesh

Diatom shells...

I too like the piece, but I wouldn't name it "the word became flesh" either, it is already your first and last line... it is natural to want to name it that, that is after all what the poem is about... but you can say the same thing in other ways... "The meat of the matter" jumped on me as soon as I read your poem... just an idea of how you could go with this. Richard

I think we all tackle the

I think we all tackle the same subjects as poets, I've written a few and the word was made flesh... I like your take. How 'bout ~ Gods Don't Weep?????? Dia,

"and the flesh was lost by the words" that's my title. that's what I thought of as I read it Me, I always try to name my poems with a line from the last stanza, not necessarily the last line. thanks always, Eddie

Well, after....

...re-reading everything...I think that you should name it, "If Looks Could Kill". Especially after the , "fiery eyes" part, and the ending! It's really not necessary to mention ANY god in this poem. Truly...think about it ! Truly, a clean, crisp, superb write, save for your title. "write on"! sincerely, #{:>{)}8==== docmaverick.

Doc… I think I just fell

Doc... I think I just fell in love with you. lol. If looks could kill, indeed! Bravo! Now that's a title for a poem about words made flesh. ~A p.s. I'd keep the first line... and let the last line be "if Gods could weep". The title of course, "If Looks Could Kill". There. Beautiful music! "If you have come to help me, you are wasting your time. But if you have come because your liberation is wound up in mine, then let us work together." Aboriginal Activist Group, Queensland, 1970's

and when we communicate

a picture of our intangible words wafted about in the air some landing here, some landing there, what is it all if not being, just being even we feel not solid sometimes are we or are we not that's the question and only when we communicate we ARE...flesh? Fascinating Oh shells. Ann of Norway
