Silent Shadow

Silence pervades

this Summer, now

that you've learned

to wait

for me standing

in the end of days

and nights,

after every train

has passed,

with only sadness

encrypted

in those interior,

lonely shadows

we call our thoughts.

Now that I inhabit

the tremulous

essence of your love,

every time you

go away, I'm closer

than ever,

as in the recurrence

of the sea,

in every wave that

touches your heart.

hello Hugo

I agree with Eddie's comments and I just wish that I had said it first. I love the way it flows down the page and trips off the tongue when read out loud. B E A U T I F U L! Always, Cat

Dear Hugo,

I adored this as Cat did , how beautiful , Now that I inhabit the tremulous essence of your love, every time you go away, I’m closer than ever, as in the recurrence of the sea, in every wave that touches your heart. and these lines are breathless I dont have the words to say how lovely they really are ... brilliant write .. Dear Jayne

Thank you for being so appreciative of this poem; it was written precisely for thoughtful people like you. I really like the way you commented about it, repeating the lines I wrote, for that shows to me the extent of your liking those lines. God bless. Best regards, Hugo
