Square Peg Makes a Round Hole

Square Peg Makes a Round Hole

I was square,
A country hick,
Skin and bones,
Leg and wick.

But I grew
Slender as cane,
Stayed sidelined,
A no-name.

Old man at odds,
Couldn’t take no more,
Grew hair long,
Walked out door!

Fought back hate.
Fought back fear.
Fought back drugs.
I’m still here!

Home and family
Made my life,
Through all troubles,
Weathered strife.

Legs went bad,
Heart did too,
Old age catches
Me and you.

But life goes on,
No regrets,
Death ain’t caught
Up to me yet!

I wouldn't call ya square

This is an inspiration, Rett. I for one am glad that you know who hasn't caught up with you yet. And I hope that it doesn't anytime soon. I'd hate to have to see Cord left hangin if ya know what I mean?
