I can't imagine staying together
It's hard to imagine
What life would be like
Without you in it
I can't imagine a cease fire
Or issues finally resolved
Taking center stage
I can't imagine staying together
Accepting the emotional abuse
That crippled me
But, still it's hard to imagine
What life would be like
Without you in it
I can imagine being free as a bird
To come and go as I please
Without your approval
I can imagine peace in my flesh
To be me
Without your consent
But, it's hard to imagine
What life would be like
Without you in it
I can imagine the sun piercing clouds
On a stormy day
When my tears fall as raindrops
I can imagine the stars and the moon
Lifting me up from my bed of criticism
You made for me
But, it's hard to imagine
What life would be like
Without you in it
Control and deception was your weapon
So, I can't imagine staying together
Accepting the emotional abuse that crippled me
What life would be like
Without you in it
I can't imagine a cease fire
Or issues finally resolved
Taking center stage
I can't imagine staying together
Accepting the emotional abuse
That crippled me
But, still it's hard to imagine
What life would be like
Without you in it
I can imagine being free as a bird
To come and go as I please
Without your approval
I can imagine peace in my flesh
To be me
Without your consent
But, it's hard to imagine
What life would be like
Without you in it
I can imagine the sun piercing clouds
On a stormy day
When my tears fall as raindrops
I can imagine the stars and the moon
Lifting me up from my bed of criticism
You made for me
But, it's hard to imagine
What life would be like
Without you in it
Control and deception was your weapon
So, I can't imagine staying together
Accepting the emotional abuse that crippled me
