Embraced name
of my certain pain
into the pool I dive,

it accompanies me
through my journey
and reminds me I'm alive.

I sing out loud
to the maddening crowd
things are just as they seem,

what hurts my heart
tears me apart
for when I wake it's not a dream.

I understand
that a life too bland
will silently slip away,

and lost you'll be
when you finally see
how reality owns the day.

I've seen it all
even grown men crawl
after admonishing these words,

be on your guard
a life worthwhile is hard
and easy's for the birds.

I speak my mind
and my heart I find
allows a certain peace,
