I felt the agony and the ecstasy of your words throughout this poem. It is both dark and light, but most assuredly all you. Favorite lines are: juxtaposed to my sorrow my flesh is stuck to you like ice to part is to strip off pieces of pain i desire to worship once more at your altar - i need to be a profligate at your temple this flame shall ignite the fire this passion shall consume the funeral pyre Always, Cat

Ah Cat!

I sense you are beginning to know me well! Thanks for stopping by... and so glad you could "feel" the agony and ecstasy... almost like I did! Cheers Boni

Boni,

at first glance, I felt that your alignment was quite a challenge to the reader here, such a huge chunk of words! But when I came upon these lines: to part is to strip off pieces of pain I felt it may have been intentional. A truly passionate write. I'm with Cat on my fav lines, I enjoyed the fire imagery (so apropos). Yours, ~Nina

Liebe Nina!

I agree with you about the lack of punctuation, but this was indeed done intentionally. It follows in the tradition of the SUFI poets, who write in a very similar style (this is not plagiarized, although the layout certainly is and hence new for me!) I sometimes think I 'feel' too much (more pain than joy - I hasten to add :)- so I am glad you could sense the passion! Tschuess! Boni

Dear Bonita,

This is, I think, clearly your best love poem, if not the best poem altogether that I have read of yours. It is inventive, uninterrupted and shameless. Setting aside shame is internally dangerous and yet potentially beneficial - but poetically incredible. For it is then your nakedness which awes, your power from powerlessness the inspires, your choice to abandon bravado and intimidation which makes for a kind of blinding beauty. For everything is mostly its opposite: apparent weakness, strength; apparent surrender, control. This is an immensely powerful poem, posing as love's ragged edges. Bravo, Bonita! Brian

Thank you Brian!

I can honestly say I have learnt something from the Sufi poets. They are so unabashed in their declarations of love - openly admitting their intended madness, whether in music, wine or love. Then again, what would life be without any of these? I can indeed relate! Thanks again for your generous comments! Boni

Bonita!

Now that's what I call a love poem! I'm in envious admiration of your verve, Boni. I agree with Brian; this is the best love poem I've seen so far from you. You have a fiery heart, and not shy to show it. I liked the way the rule of opposite elements are bulldozered by the sheer power of will, or passion. There is also a great sense of the total acceptance of self sacrifice, at the behest of these brutal powers. By accepting them, you go beyond them, even death. Sincerely yours, Espen.

Thank you Espen!

After all my previous comments a final elaboration are these words from the Master "i seal my lips while my heart weeps for my search is for the one who cannot be found..." RUMI Stay inspired! I appreciate your support! Boni

Wow!

This was a great read for me! Loved the "stream-of-consciousness" progression at the heart of this piece. I've given up on my brain. I've torn the cloth to shreds and thrown it away. If you're not completely naked, wrap your beautiful robe of words around you - Rumi Best Mike
