Double Takes to This Life Thing

Have you ever read a book or something over, again?
Or have you been privy to see the same movie twice, or thrice?
Well, I find I do it all the time...but, I actually enjoy it.

You see, even though there's a modicum of predictability
going on again in the same movie or book,
there also will be tiny nuances that will surprise you by jumping out at you !

And that's only because we're human, and cannot remember everything...
in fact, depending on the personal dynamics the first time around,
one could very easily have been distracted, and most certainly missed some details.

So for me, I have absolutely no problem revisiting the very spacious library of my heart,
and witnessing something once, twice, or maybe even more !
For sometimes I even re-witness a sort of poverty, that causes me to be so broke I cannot pay attention !

What I really don't need, or ever care to re-witness
is the stifling darkness of one of our disagreements,
where one or both of us forgets that we're in this life thing, together.

With only each other to help stave off the hurt
that overwhelms and floods each of our eyes,
and makes it so very difficult to breathe, think, and feel the other's pain.

Yes, there are dark sides to things in life
so that we may better learn to appreciate the lighter times,
and to learn from our own inadequacies and disappointments.

I'll tell you, this life thing has solidified one thing into the very core of my being;
it's really not worth it to be "right", if the trade is some body's own misery.
So, I thank you for teaching me your knowing look.....and the joy of re-witnessing  your smile.

Doc

The memories are great to relive, but it is the bad ones that teach us humility and understanding of others, and to learn of these things is to enhance our own Spirit, to bring it to a higher level of understanding and dwelling. This is a great write and makes you think on these things, Thank you for remining us of what we must do, Yours Ian.T

This life thing IS tricky......

As usual with your writings...I enjoyed this very much...This life thing IS tricky..just when you think you have it figured out...it will be time to leave the planet....I love to re-live the good and the derog...as it says we re-learn from it...this appears to be an apology or comfort before the storm...which is an interesting and thought provoking thought....love it Doc!!
