Is it that time already

Is it that time already, my word it’s gone by

Forgive me, while I wipe, a tear from my eye

Seems only last week I was sitting in school

Annoying the teachers and acting the fool

Then married too young, with a wife and a child

No more going out, getting drunk, acting wild

Society soon got the better of me

Becoming a man of sobriety

The dreams and the plans that I’d had for so long

Were put to one side, maybe right, maybe wrong

As the years trickle by, all those dreams start to fade

No point in regret for decisions I’d made

Is it that time already, so it is, oh my my

Forgive me, I’m sorry, I’ve started to cry

Lead on my friend, you can show me the way

Forgive me my tears, it’s been quite a day.

hello

Time certainly does go by fast. Nice poem and a good read. Always, Cat
