Perfect pet ?

When the Elephant sings in the treetops

And his mate, from afar, then replies

It’s a sure sign they’re ready for nesting

And soon, they’ll be swarming like flies
.

The nests that they build will be high up

At the end of a delicate twig

For they weigh much the same as a Sparrow

Even though they are terribly big
.

The female lays eggs by the dozen

Which will hatch out in ten days or less

In a short time the fledglings get restless

Then they’re off causing chaos and mess

.

Should these creatures arrive, wreaking havoc

Though you’ll want to, don’t reach for your gun

Just wait till they get within range, then

You can tempt them inside with a bun
.

Rig them out with a shiny new collar

And a leash, but your not finished yet

With some patience and plenty of training

They will make you the most perfect pet
