Pencil Me in for Thursday

Brittle hopes
layered with opaque dreams
and jaded future plans

soaked with obscure wisdom
that no one understands.

Loose lips
bright lying eyes
drops you to your knees,

excuse my withered arms
take my load, if you please.

Chosen roads
excluded others
direction earns it's place

tryouts and/or practice runs
exist not, in the human race.

Granite pasts
supported attitudes
track records all in play,

gravity does dominate
welcome to another day.

About the Author

Region, Country: The High Desert, in the wild west, southern California, U.S. of A.., USA

Favorite Poets: Keates, Poe, Dickinson, and Dr. Seuss. There are a smattering of others, but why bother listing 'em all, ya know?, I also rely on a few of our poets, here....for advice, and what not. I couldn't possibly explain what a fountain of live, effective knowledge we have...right here in our midst ! To catch a glimmer of brilliance, merely visit: the Stream.

Doc, So true to life: "tryouts and /or practice runs exist not in, the human race" _____________________________________________________ Income-tax forms should be more realistic by allowing the taxpayer to list "Uncle Sam" as a dependent Anonymous
