Good Morning at last

I have walked in the darkness
                             For far too long
                             I yearn for the sound
                             Of the mockingbird's song
                             The song of the morning
                             As they wecome the day
                             Promising the world
                             That  the  sunlight  will stay
                             Yes that was a sound
                             I surly did miss
                             As  sweet as the feel
                             Of  a good morning kiss
I have dwelled in the darkness
                             Terrified of  dawn
But my eyes are now open
MY ROSE COLORED GLASSES ARE ON
I have hid in the shadows
Shielding my face from the light
                              It is time to awake
                              And emerge from night
I want to touch the lillies of the valley
                             Watch the red roses bloom
                             Turn  back from dispair
                             Say goodbye to the gloom
I can now stand in the sun
And  feel her rays on my face
I  am filled with God's love
It is a most peaceful place
                              Blue skies are above me
                              Green grass tickles my feet
I bask in The Father's victory
The devil has gone down in defeat

Good Morning

I liked the content, rythm, pattern and pacing. It had a calming effect. Good reading~~ ______________________________________________________ Income-tax forms should be more realistic by allowing the taxpayer to list "Uncle Sam" as a dependent Anonymous

Hi green eyes,

rhythm and pacing are the fortes of this piece, very enjoyable to read aloud. There is one line that I felt might be improved: This will no longer go on seems a little too weak for me in comparison with the other words that are powerful and strong. Do you think you could find an alternative for this line? Yours, ~Nina P.S. Typo in l.6 (welcome)

Green Eyes

I agree with Nina on this one that one line does seem weaker than the rest .. this will no longer go on really liked this one though will be back in the edits to see how it evolves ... regards Jayne

I liked the flow of the poem. Not forceful at all. Also it has a positive vibe with it. That's really good. Nicely done!

Darkness gloomed, light transpird!

Reading this I pictured and felt the shift "say goodbye to the gloom, I can now Stand in the sun" than the poem Takes off like the light.Rythm and pacing, two done well. T.S

Dear Green Eyes...

This is very beautiful... Though I love all your poetry. The dark starlit enchanted ones... and this lovely one in the Sun. That's a good blend! Raven
