SOMETHING DIED

I sent you a message the subject headingjust read  "WHY"?you knew all the answers.                             So did I. I gave you a heartthe inside of which bled, you sensed  the dangerbut refused to step aside.                            Neither did I. I longed for your love.To locate its existence, psychologists had measured it. Against your will -                           We tried. I waited for your callthe phone set aside. You chose not to make itsomething in me died.                           It was I. BjR  July 29 '09

Ouch! I can see my own reflection in the mirror of your words... remembering. Favorite lines: I longed for your love. To locate its existence, psychologists had measured it. Against your will - We tried. I waited for your call the phone set aside. You chose not to make it something in me died. It was I. Always, Cat

I'm delighted

It resonated for you Cat! I think these feelings are what a number of us can mirror back for one another, not just as women - but to everyone with sensitive souls. "We" as poets - the artistes! need to distill emotions into words in order to share them! Always appreciate your discerning critic's eye and your heartfelt sentiments! Boni

Boni,

I am sorry to be coming on this piece so late, and I can't understand why you didn't get more comments. It's achingly beautiful, and I think everyone who has experienced unrequited love or been dumped by a lover can relate. The end is particularly strong. Yours, ~Nina P.S. Maybe it's the title? P.P.S. The person you're calling is not available... this just popped into my head as I was trying to think of a title alternative...

Thanks Nina!

Appreciate your suggestion about the title - but as with much of my poetry - the sentiments expressed are, as I the writer, experience them... hence "SOMETHING DIED" must needs remain. I think the lack of exposure here is just random as it so often can be at this forum. Danke Boni
