Mystical Ball

Water imps playing
in the soft light
Dance the mystic
a ceremonies rite

Traveling trees
pass by with smiles
sometimes taking
months to walk miles

Families of forest
watch on with awe
tiptoe to shadows
breaking imp law

Fireflies slicing
through the wind
shearing a breeze
diving rescinds

Presented on flowers
the faeries arrive
an invitation gnomes
did help connive

A path of Lillie’s
scrolled around
paisley patterns
on the ground

Mystical nights
fantasy enthralled
the imps did host
their very own ball

3nd, 4th, and closing stanzas were just plain awesome! I loved the description of the fireflies, and the smiling trees! ~Jess K. ----------------------- "Handle every situation like a dog: if you can't eat it, or screw it, then piss on it and walk away!" - unknown

I love mystical poetry and so do a few others here, ever since I was little girl my Nana and my mother used to read fairy tales about dragons, princesses and imps you name it, I knew what they were, it was only natural to let my imagination run wild and start writing my mythical friends into my scribbles ... thank you so much *blush* dont know that I have been anyones idol before and I am not sure I am qualified for the position LOL there are many more here more qualified for that title than me but I love that you love my scribbles and if they bring you joy thats enough for me..:) take care hugz Jayne x x

Adore this poem, Jayne!!

Adore this poem, Jayne!! Seems all little girls are enamored of fairies and mystical things... unicorns...I loved and read every fairy tale (albeit many were quite dark) I could get my hands on. If we're lucky that sense of mystery, of light-heartedness is not squelched by life. I can see a fairy-poetry book for young girls emerging.. Dear Anna

It is a birthday gift for a little girl whos in love with the mystical, nothing like prolonging the gift that all children hold till ... well you know life sets in ... and they are my way of escaping and flying to another world not as marred as this one ... I hold this sense of mystery for its the last vestige of my childhood but I am like Peter Pan in this one I refuse to grow up lol... much love and hugz Jayne x x "We did not change as we grew older; we just became more clearly ourselves.
