Scotty

You came back today

I'd forgotten how long you had been gone

You haven't changed since I saw you last

We are all here to remember

The days when you walked

Alongside of us, and shared our lives

Today you are here

I wonder where you would have gone

If you had stayed here with us?

Would I have memories of

A man I would have liked?

I like to think so

You were well on your way to

Becoming a business-man

In your own right

Doing something you loved

It took you away from us

Now you are back

You will stay for awhile

Refreshing our minds

About who you are

Then you will go again

Every now and then

You will come back

And you won't have changed

Since I saw you last

Heartstrings

Thank you Jayne, I really wanted to do this. I Have found my voice in poetry once again after a long time. These things that have touched my life so strongly, need to be said. My family knows that I can talk,[sometimes I'm sure that they wish that I would shut up!]but I don't know if they know how strongly I feel about things. This is my way to let them know. L & HUGZ, Gee.

Very Moving

As a poem it's very good. The subject matter here is what moves me the most. I'm sure it wasn't easy to write and I thank you for sharing it here. Be well, 2Quills

Moving...

Thanx 2 Quills, Actually, it was easy to write, I teared up, but it was easier for me to write than explain how I feel to anyone. As I said to Jane, sometimes I am not sure if anyone knows how strongly I feel about things. And knowing that there are people here that can splash the ink of their hearts across the pages of Neopoet, I felt comfortable doing the same. Thank you both for being part of what helps. ~ Gee.

A special write

for a special person by a special person. As I read your poem, I had the feeling that the man you were writing about was deceased. The last line reinforced this for me. Then I read your comments under the poem. I teared-up and my heart went out to you and the rest of the family. A very good write, Gee. Always, Cat
