Central Park

Central Park

The earth has been raptured into

something gorgeous, blue and

gentle. There is a musical space

around the bends of an unbroken

identity that befalls on its own

on most things, now beautiful.

The moon, yawns, fading happily.

The random tweet from the park,

with which the birds have painted

the day, dance at the prospects

of the Summer's tender warmth.

I've been given myself to read

the unwritten words of the chosen

rivers of life, overgrown at times,

with the fiercer grace of this city,

flooded with shimmering lights.

Hi, Ziggy:

Thank you for your comment. This poem is just a fresh way to see a place we New Yorkers know so well, but that we often take for granted. I guess that's one of the reasons we write poetry. Saludos. Hugo.

I agree, your opening lines, as well as "The moon, yawns, fading happily." are some of the best lines within this write. I've nothing to add, as your pattern and pacing were well executed, with good imagery, and a much appreciated conciseness. Well done. ~Jess K. ----------------------- "Sundown you better take care if I find you've been creepin' 'round my back stairs.
